Wedding Day Skin Care Tips
By Lisa Link
As a recently engaged bride-to-be, I have been consumed within the
predictable whirlwind of wedding planning that follows. While it really has
been a great adventure to scout out reception halls, try on
wedding gowns, interview
photographers, select wedding invitations and marvel at how bloody expensive everything really is, it
has also added a new dimension of anxiety, albeit joyous, to my life.
With
that in mind, I wanted to share some tips and ideas for full-body Bridal
beauty, as well as Bridal sanity, on your wedding day.
Obviously, everyone wants to look their very best on their wedding day; when
else will you be the focus of attention of your closest friends, as well as
the subject of a photographer chosen to capture you and your partner within
a day that is both intimate and public?
While you've got the wedding gown and
headpiece of your dreams, you can't neglect the care your skin and hair
needs to look radiant on the Big Day.
While it is common for many brides to
visit a dermatologist for complexion-calming tips, or a little "fix," or to
go to a good salon for hair care and highlights, they often neglect the rest
of their body's skin in the process.
So many wedding dresses today are more "bare,"
with attention drawn to shoulders, neck and décolletage, that healthy,
glowing skin is an absolute necessity. The same goes for
bridesmaids' styles; considering that a bridesmaid will be standing next to a woman who
has pulled out all the stops to look drop-dead gorgeous,
she'll definitely
want to spend a little time pampering herself to look her best.
Now, I
know what you're thinking: "Good goddess! I've already spent the better part
of a down payment for home on this freakin' fairytale, and I
don't have lots
of extra money to throw around!"
Fear not! Here are some Bridal beauty tips for a little
do-it-yourself luxury that won't have you spending all your hard-earned
honeymoon cash.

Your Moment of Zen
Hopefully, you'll find some value in the bridal beauty suggestions that I've made above. Above all else,
try to remember that this should be a fun day, not one filled with stress.
Accept that while everything won't be perfect, it will be
heartfelt, and your guests will remember fondly the day you made your union
official.
All of my married friends have told me the same thing: try not to
micromanage everything on the day of your wedding. Just surround yourself
with people you trust, let them know your wishes, and TRUST them to carry
out their tasks.
Focus on your sweetheart, and take some time to really
reflect on the vows you'll be exchanging, and enjoy the unique relationship
you share. Everything else will fall into place.
