About Bathtime Suds Report
At Bathtime Suds Report, we love bath and body products!
Our philosophy: If you’re going to do something every day of
your life, why not make it as enjoyable as possible? We’re
always on the lookout for great new products to wash with, soak
in or smear on.
These days, there seems to be a proliferation of products with
exotic ingredients: mud, salt, herbs, sugar, honey, seaweed…you
name it, and someone has probably devised a way to apply it to
your body. Our goal: to help sort out the good from the "don’t
waste your money."
The Internet has opened up a whole new world of access to bath
and body products (as well as other products, of course). Gone
are the days of trekking to the mall to stock up on interesting
products. The Web now offers access to "department store brands",
drugstore brands, and products from small companies that previously
were available only locally.
The Web also gives equal access
to people who don’t live in large cities. Since you’re reading
this, you’re probably already Internet-savvy enough to realize
that online shopping offers incredible flexibility: the ability
to shop anytime of the day or night from the comfort of home
or office. There’s also something inherently fun about having
packages delivered and the excitement of cutting open that box.
One real weakness of the Internet, though, is that it doesn’t
allow us to touch and smell things before we buy. With bath
and body products this can be a real drawback. I learned this
lesson recently when I bought an expensive bottle of lotion
from an Internet site, and when it arrived, I could not stand
the smell!
The scent had been described as a mixture of appealing
scents, but it turned out that the geranium smell was dominant,
and I personally don’t care for geranium. I ended up giving
away that lotion (what actually happened to that lotion: I
gave it to my sister, who also didn’t like it. She left it in
the public restroom in her office building, where it was quickly
snatched up, along with a bottle of truly rank-smelling goat’s
milk soap. But I digress).
In preparing this site, I was fortunate to find a great group
of fellow bath-and-body-product-lovers (some, I must say, more
fanatical then I am), to test and write about these products.
Our mission is to provide objective information about these
products, to try to take the guesswork out of buying over the
Internet.
We also hope to stir up some enthusiasm for these
products. If you’re still plodding along with whatever you can
find in the grocery store, wake up and smell the aromatherapy
shower gel!
There’s more to life than Dove and Calgon. Although
we love trying new offerings from the big-name brands, perhaps
even more fun is finding products a little "off the beaten path."
Everything reviewed on this site is normally available for purchase over
the Internet, and we try to list at least one site where it is sold.
We love to get feedback from site visitors, so please let us
hear your comments and suggestions. Finally, here is possibly
the best thing about publishing this site: Now, when I’m enjoying
a long, hot shower, I can honestly say: "I’m working!"
