Lux Bath

For a fun and unique array of bath and body items check out
Lux Bath. The lovely founder and owner, Tamera Duckett, prides herself
on seeking out little known or hard-to-find European and
American brands, as well as finding specific items for the
needs of her customers.
She has succeeded admirably with an
impressive range of quality products that include such
European delights as Harmonie Blanche shower gels and
body lotions and Roger & Gallet Les Doux Nature
Collection.
I had the pleasure of sampling the exquisite
French line Exquises Tentations in the enchanting
Violette de Paris fragrance in Hair and Body Wash ($28 for 16oz), Body Lotion ($33.00 for 16oz), Body Powder ($33.00 for 8oz),
Bath Salts ($12.00 for 2 envelopes), Soap ($7.50) and Body
Mist ($26.00 for 8oz).
Whether you enjoy florals or not, this
fresh violet scent is simply transcendent; it’s a must have. Packaged in striking silver canisters with Victorian
illustrations, these products are perfect to give as gifts or
strategically place around your home.
The Exquises Tentations
range is also available in a Pamplemouse Vanille (a lush
grapefruit vanilla), Tendre est la Nuit (a sensual jasmine and
primrose blend), Dimanche á la Campagne (an unisex herbal
scent), and Marina Blue (citrus, floral and wood).
A must try is Friction de Foucaud Invigorating Tonic
($20.00 for 8.8oz). Created in 1946, this refreshing tonic will
absolutely rejuvenate sagging spirits and bodies! You’ll never
try anything quite like it. Give this to friends who are
exercise fanatics and they will thank you profusely. The range
also contains a Foot Cream ($15.00 for 1.7oz) and Massage Oil
($20.00 for 8.8oz).
And, no well-stocked bathroom would be
complete without an item from Gianna Rose Atelier. I’m
smitten with the Pear Cream and Body Scrub ($34.00 for the set, 4
oz. each). The Pear Cream is a rich, whipped mix of almond
oil, shea butter and pear concentrate; the Body Scrub is a
blend of sea extracts, rosemary, pumice and apricot kernels.
The glamorous Gianna Rose range includes body lotion, soap and
candles. Lux Bath also carries a personal favorite, Doux Liquide de Marseille Hand
Soap in Lavender ($12.00 for 400ml). This gentle soap with a
natural mix of oils is perfect for sensitive skin and dry
hands.
Also popular are products from the Kala Corporation. These Italian and Spanish products embody old world apothecary
charm with antique packaging. Kala makes the adorable
Perfumeria Gal Lip Balms ($6.00) in flavors including Red Currant
and Pear, the famous Roberts Rosewater ($6.00) that can be used
as a splash, toner or lingerie wash, Valobra Al Burro Di Cacao
(cocoa butter) and Calendula Soaps ($8.50), and Vivace Lip
Gloss in Cherry, Chocolate or Coconut ($10.00).
