Get Cooking
Philosophy
By Lisa Link Phillips
Lastly, I moved on to
Philosophy,
and had an absolute ball trying all three of their "Cookbook"
collections: Frozen Desserts, Baked Goods, and Homemade Pies.
Each set includes 4-4.5oz.bottles, each a different fragrance. And, at $30
per set, these would make a great gift for yourself, or someone
you love!
In fact, these sets seem (to me at least) to be specifically
designed as gift sets. The gingham-touched packaging is adorable
(Philosophy is all about gorgeous
packaging), the price is
certainly right, and each set has a cute little extra: a recipe
on each bottle for the actual "goodie" for which the product is
scented.
So, after your dessert-scented bath or shower, you can
make a little magic in your own kitchen. Since I haven't tried
to make anything as of yet, I'm not sure about how the recipes
will actually turn out, but since most of the fun is in trying,
why not take a chance?
Each set has a variety of very fragrant choices. The Frozen
Desserts collection focuses on fruity aromas: Raspberry Sorbet,
Orange Sherbet, Grape Popsicle and Strawberry Milkshake.
The
Homemade Pie collection is varied, with the tart and sweet
fragrances of Coconut Cream, Lemon Meringue, Blueberry, and Key
Lime.
The Baked Goods collection has a rich and delicious
selection of Chocolate Chip Cookies, Banana Nut Bread, Cinnamon
Buns, and Pumpkin Pie. This one is my favorite of the bunch
all the scents are fabulous, but the cinnamon buns fragrance is
to die for!
The aforementioned scents are all VERY accurate in
their interpretation, and will trip that yummy switch in your
brain almost immediately.
These formulas are suitable for washing skin and hair. And,
while there's really nothing "natural" or special (unlike the
Body Bakery and Cake Beauty) about the ingredients in these
washes, they are pretty gentle, produce lots of bubbles, and can
be used as shower gel or bubble bath.
However, because my hair
is highlighted, and a bit dry and cranky as a result, I only use
these formulas to wash my bod, leaving my haircare routine to
the folks at Aveda, Paul Mitchell, and Vidal Sasson.
Consequently, I can't really speak to using them for shampoo,
but I do think they are very nice for keeping skin clean and
soft.
You can purchase Philosophy products at a myriad of online
merchants, including
